While former US Senator for South Dakota Tom Daschle was still in office, he took the stage at a recent Gathering and Healing of Nations meeting, whose purpose was to try to talk about the areas of agreement and disagreement between the whites and the Indians of South Dakota. He never expected to see protest signs at the back of the room. The signs read "Uphold the 1868 Treaty Uphold the US Constitution" and "Restore the 1868 Treaty." LEARN MORE
